RedBrick has renovated and retrofitted the historic Alberta Block building on Jasper Avenue. This work has transformed the building from empty and quiet to vibrant and bustling.
Alberta Block is a heritage building, first built in 1909, but RedBrick has overseen major upgrades that have removed the aches and pains that come with age. We invested to modernize the structure, as well as to upgrade the building’s mechanical system, plumbing system and windows. This work has ensured Alberta Block will be a premier location for businesses on Jasper Avenue.
Tenants have responded. Since re-opening October 2015, Alberta Block now has a diverse, active community of tenants: Edmonton Digital Arts College, Alberta Music, Dechant Construction, NEXT Architecture, Homestead co-working, Mr. Barber Shop & School and the Needle Vinyl Tavern.
The building, at Jasper Avenue and 105 Street, is the centrepiece for downtown, one of Edmonton’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. Downtown’s best restaurants, coffee shops and green spaces are just footsteps away. Nearby, new residential developments have brought more people and an all-day vibrancy to Jasper Avenue, while light-rail transit is expanding, making downtown accessible for more people from different areas of the city.
